JJ abrams has recently revelaed the fate of the monster in a new rolling stones magazine, this is what he says. "JJ: Yes, he's dead. Ultimately the bombs kill him." source:http://cloverfieldclues.blogspot.com...long-live.html

Ultimately doesn't mean its dead at the end of the first movie. And really, if the military kept dropping more and more powerful bombs, they would get it eventually, even if it meant using a nuke.

No surprise here.

I can't believe he would just come out and say that. Where's the guy that enjoyed torturing fans with mystery?

the cloverfield mystery is over. the how mystery was what this movie was about. seeing a trailer for a movie u had no idea about etc etc. the clover being dead isn't part of that experience he was trying to achieve.

I'm with Tanooki--I'm a bit upset that he just gave that up in some article. I've voiced my opinion a few times about how I feel concerning the lack of appreciation he's giving the 'dedicated' fans, and this just tops it. It seems like he has basically given up on all of it. "Clover? Oh, oh, yeah, he's dead. Star Trek will be good, though..."

Well as a director/producer, you need to learn not to get hung up on a project, you always have to move on, there is always a new film.

tbh I don't see this movie as a jj movie anymore. I see it at a Matt Reeves movie.

anyway atm jj is currently directing star trek and at this very moment in time its the star trek fan he wants to look after not cloverfield fans
