Exactly because Teddy tells Jamie on the tape that he is on the station. It is possible that Teddy and other TidoWave operatives tried to stop what ever they were doing and this cause an explosion or released the monster who destroyed the station and sank it. The rescue mission as you stated could find no trace of the station whatsoever. Another possibility is that the oil tanker overturned in the NYC harbor had stopped off at the station and picked something up. Maybe something the monster wanted. He destroyed the station looking for it and then followed the tanker to the city. Of course big time speculation and I could be completely wrong, but it's fun trying to figure out the story line.

I've lurked here for quite some time, but this compelled me to actually post something.

I've noticed a few things that no one else has pointed out.
1. I think you can see the monster swimming away from the oil rig after it gets destroyed.
Watch the 2nd video posted at about 40 seconds in. There is definitely something moving off to the right of the rig.

2. Why does the Japanese business, man on the helicopter, have a briefcase HANDCUFFED to himself? Seems kind of shady to me.

3. There is some footage in the videos of what seems to be people on the oil rig as it is going down. In all of the panic there seems to be a man in a ski mask, holding a gun with a laser site.


I hope you guys see these things also, so I don't feel crazy.

what's the deal with the people on the helicopter? when the camera is moving around you can see the little asian guy has a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist. what were they up to out there?

edit: i noticed the weird ski-mask guys with the laser-aim guns too. if they are like tagruato security or something, why would they need ski-masks?

one of the interview says that Tagruato has it's own private army/security which is who the guys with guns are. I'm pretty sure you can see the Tagruato logo on their arms.

As for the thing on the right side of the station, someone mentioned this elsewhere and I did see it, but I can't get a good screenshot of it that would show that it's not just a part of the structure, but there is defintely something up there.

But as far as the briefcase handcuffed to the guy, i didnt notice that... no idea.

Yeah, I can't get a good look at what's moving away from the rig, but it's moving away rather fast.
I don't think we'll be able to get a good shot of it, but there has to be something there.
