Pwnage 2.0.1 iPhone 2.0 Hacking Utility Released

So it looks like the folks over at the iPhone dev team decided to release their Pwnage 2.0.1 yesterday so that people with 2G iPhones can Unlock/Activate/Jailbreak their phones with the new 2.0 firmware and people with the new 3G iPhone can Activate and Jailbreak their hardware. The 3G unit cannot currently be unlocked due to differences in the baseband but the team is working on it. The software is currently only for Mac computers as well, although I believe if you get someone to give you a pwned version of the firmware, you should be able to restore it on a PC.

I have Pwned 2 iPhones already (2G, not 3G) and Unlocked/Activated/Jailbroken both of them without a single problem. Both phones were previously unlocked/jailbroken on 1.1.4 using the iPlus 2.0b software. I didn't have to update to 2.0 via iTunes before using the Pwned version of the firmware file, all I did was downloaded the firmware from apple, pwned it, then updated the iPhone using the pwned firmware. All of this was done directly from the 1.1.4 iPlus 2.0b unlocked/jailbroken version, no updates in between.

Everything works fine, App Store, Cydia, etc. Only thing is, applications that were created for use on 1.1.4 (jailbroken) no longer work in 2.0 due to changes made in the file systems, etc. So there aren't too many programs available through Cydia yet and Installer doesn't work on the new firmware yet. But access to the hundreds of apps in the official App Store should keep you busy for a while.
